Super September Workshop

Well folks, it’s about time for another workshop, wouldn’t you say?  Of course you would.

I’ll be bringing in a model for this month’s workshop and we’ll review a few things covered in the Foundations Series but mostly focus on street photography, lighting, creative vision, demonstrations etc.  Potentially some portfolio work here!

And of course, you get to hang out with yours truly!  Isn’t that fantastic?!  No but seriously, I’ll try and answer all your questions about taking pictures good and you can join in on the growing community of photographers.

No classroom work this time around, we’re just gonna go out and shoot on location at various spots around downtown Chicago.  Maybe we can grab dinner afterwards and talk about our images from the day.

Here are the details:

When: September 26th at 3 PM
Where: Chicago!
Who: YOU
Why: Because!

Cost $39 for students and Foundation Series alum, $59 for first timers

I’m opening up only 6 spots to keep it small and provide individual attention, so hurry!

Fixed don’t mean no frolick

Admittedly, shooting weddings can become quite routine.  Preparation shots, check.  Ceremony, formals, check check.  Portraits… portraits…?

Heh.

Rock and roll!!

Not pictured here is a photo of the bride dancing with her Dad.  Now, the Father-Daughter dance is always moving and an emotional time.  I’m not ashamed to admit I had to keep my professional composure in check several times in the past.  But this one, this one was different.  The reception hall was all applause and smiles, that is, until she took the floor.  Her daddy led her in a slow dance to a tune no one remembers.  Gradually the general noise died down into a silence charged with intensity as more people became riveted to the center of the dance floor.  In the stillness, even the music seemed to fade, every eye held captive by the scene before them, the bride clinging to her daddy.

And the sound of her crying.

MORTAL KOMBAT!

Maybe for my next shoot I'll get the Bride and Groom to fight each other. Just a thought.
