Every year is a surprise to me.  Never would I have imagined shooting so much in a year or meeting such wonderful people.  Yet, I never really stopped to enjoy and appreciate all the blessings in my life.  After college, it was always one thing after another- accomplishing this or that and figuring long term goals into my short term ones.  My soul has been neglected.

I am a firm believer that artistry is as much a mastery of skill as it is raw expression of self.  Art requires courage, the courage to be honest with oneself and furthermore, courage to release the discoveries under the public eye.  But there is also a private battle- a battle of self-worth, fulfillment and happiness.  Neither aspect, both inner vigilance nor outer expression, can be denied a place in the artist’s craft.

And we are all artists.

So my googlemaps application finally went through a week or so ago and I decided to check and see how it looked just now.  Searching for “Wedding Photographer” or the other usual search terms didn’t bring up my location so I took the direct approach and did a search for “Anthony Yoon Photography.”

Well apparently, googlemaps thinks my studio is located on a farm in the middle of an open field right outside Dwight, IL.  Dwight.  It’s a town.  I think I’ll make a field trip out to Dwight and see how my studio looks.  In the meantime, please do not attempt to drop by my “studio” any time soon.
